Munich Part 3: Tierpark Hellabrunn Zoo

Who wouldn't love waking up to this adorable little child. Oh did I forget to mention, we bought blueberries at the market. But then again that shouldn't surprise to anyone, since I've mentioned that blueberries are a much when we go to the markets.

Blueberry monster!

I had macaroons

Kinsley ready for our busy day. First stop, the zoo!

We got there just as they were opening the doors. Which was great for us because for the first couple of hours we got to really show Kinsley the animals without having to maneuver around others.
This zoo is unique in so many ways. To start of with, it was the first Geo-zoo. They categorized animals together based on their natural habitat. They have also helped with breeding different animals who are close to extinction. Brian read online that the river running through the zoo is their water supply for the facility and all the animals as well.

The animals were just waking up and eating breakfast.

So we walked up to the rhino exhibit thinking it might be out in the open. Instead he was resting up against the wall. There were people standing over him and the rhino literally stretched up as high as he could as if he was trying to get a good look at them. It was so cute.

Przewalski horse
They are have never been domesticated. This was the only horse that responded to us walking by.

The petting zoo was nice and quiet for Kinsley, so she seemed more interested in the animals. It's a little overwhelming when there are tons of kids running around like the last zoo.
This goat wanted some love.

Yes, this is a guinea pig exhibit. The Frankfurt Zoo had them also but I didn't take a picture because I didn't think too much about it.

Polar bears just hanging out.

I think this was one of Kinsley's favorite stops in the park. Four new baby sea lions this summer. They were wild and talking up a storm.

We walked by the tiger at least three times and he did move a muscle. Later we read online that Yegor was brought in this summer after the other 17 yr. old tiger passed away.

Baby giraffe born this summer.

Never a dull moment with the monkeys.

We took this picture for Aunt Kellie

Kinsley's favorite animal.

Mmmmm....bananas!

Can you spot the bat?

Back to the lions after a detour through the indoor exhibit.

Sorry for the picture. With the sun out and about taking pictures through the glass was a little difficult. We had fun eating lunch with the penguins.

Our last animal at the park...zebras.

Well look at that, Kinsley didn't want to sit in her strollers.

Are you coming Mom?
