Munich Part 2: Munich Market/Downtown

Unlike other markets that we've been too, the Viktualienmarkt in Munich is open daily. We didn't buy too much other than a handful of post cards to send out to family and friends.

Of course there is always an abundance of flowers at the markets.

Pastas and spices. This place smelt amazing.

Maypole in the middle of the market.

The New Town Hall and Old Town Hall (below) are apart of the center square called Marienplatz (Mary's Square). There is a great story behind the Glockenspiel (the clock) on the New Town Hall.

This column in the center of the square is to celebrate the Virgin Mary at the top.

Theatine Church

A memorial for Michael Jackson. There was one for his monkey too but no picture. We came across this on our way back to the car.

Brian and I noticed that a lot of people were carrying around milka chocolate bags. After dinner we found the store and it....was....awesome. Sadly this is the only picture I took but the chocolate is yummy.

At the end of the day our dogs were barking but I have to say I have no problem walking around when there's so many great things to see and do. Last stop for the day, the hotel.

Next: Tierpark Hellabrunn Zoo
