So here I am talking about Kinsley's second birthday in my last blog and to be honest I don't think a lot of you got to see the pictures from the first one. I'm not the greatest at keeping up with these things. I'll slowly getting better at it. I have to say her party turned out great and I'm so thankful for all of our family and friends who helped us celebrate. One of my good friends Emily made it out to Mississippi for the occasion. She rode with Brian's parents, so I'm sure Danny gave her a hard time. Knowing her though, she probably dished it right back. Emily was kind enough to take the pictures at the party for us with her snazzy new camera.
We had a circus theme for Kinsley. She really couldn't tell us what she wanted so I figured what better than something fun and colorful. There were so many ideas, thanks to pinterest. Too many actually. That I probably would have over done it.
I tried making rice crispy treat using popcorn but the popcorn was soggy after the first batch. So we had to scratch that idea and stick with the old fashion rice crispy treats. And what better than to have the circus animal crack boxes.
I was all about chalkboard paint after a few crafts but sadly enough I had to leave it behind with my mom because I couldn't ship it. We baked cupcakes inside of ice cream cones. I learned later how to accomplish the ice cream cone look without the crazy mess after it was all said and done. Pom pom toothpicks from the party store to top them off. They're not perfect but they're cute.
Brian and I had a photo booth at our wedding and I absolutely loved that idea. So I made our own.
There weren't too many kids to invite for Kinsley and a lot of adults, so we kept it casual. No big games.
I think everyone liked it. Plus, the booth was a great way to show Kinsley later on who came to her party.

Acting silly is nothing new for us.
My dad and my brother Matthew. I love this picture because the first few attempts we couldn't get real smiles. For some reason they started laughing about something and Emily captured it.

Kinsley was so excited about something. Look, Brian can't hardly contain himself either.
We worked all week trying to get her to hold her finger up and tell everyone she's one. Kinsley couldn't have timed it better. Look how little she looks in this picture compared to the pictures we've taken recently.
I didn't want to bore everyone with pictures of mommy and daddy opening Kinsley's present. The monkey tunnel was a hit.
Showing Kinsley her lion cake while singing happy birthday. I know what everyone is think when they look at this cake. Could it be any bigger? It was only suppose to be a small round cake and thin enough so that the lady could use only frosting to make the lion mane. Long story short, she added cupcakes around the cake and it ended up twice the size I asked. It was a lot of cake for our money, so I can't complain.
Letting Kinsley dig into her own piece of cake was not planned at all. Brian and I weren't really up for the giant mess in the end. But everyone insisted on us letting her and that it's what every one year old should do at their first birthday party. Good thing I had an extra table cloth for the floor.
Let the fun begin!
She was loving every minute of it.
Sharing with her Gigi...
...and her mommy.
I've seen bigger messes, so I guess it wasn't too bad after all.
Once the party died down, Kinsley got a bath and a nap.
Well feel free to share your thoughts and ideas for next years shindig. It's never too early to start planning. Even though we might have lots of snow around her birthday.
Ciao!

Looks like it was a great party! Wished we could have came! Love the pictures of her eating cake! Miss you & love you! Keep the blogs coming!
